Services for families
Pregnant women
In case of pregnancy, it is appropriate to notify the airline your status at the time of booking and request the necessary documentation, especially in the last four weeks or if you are in special conditions such as risk pregnancy or twin pregnancy.
Unaccompanied minors travelling on their own
"Unaccompanied minors" are all minors who travel alone and whose age is between 5 and 14 years for domestic flights and 5 and 15 years for international flights.
Requirement for the "unaccompanied minor" to leave is that, when booking and/or purchasing a ticket, the condition of "unaccompanied minor" has been appropriately reported so that the airline can activate the relevant assistance procedure.
The child must be accompanied to the airport by a parent or person legally responsible. After check-in procedure, the airport staff will take care of him/her until boarding, where the minor will be entrusted to the crew who will assist him/her during the flight.
Rules for children under 14 travelling alone
From 04/06/2014 parents or guardians of minors under the age of 14 who travel unaccompanied by at least one of them and who intend to grant permission to a natural person, or a transport company (for example an airline) must sign the accompanying declaration that will remain on the Police Station records.
The new procedure provides for the issue of a paper declaration or the entry of the mention directly on the child’s passport. In the first case, the Police Headquarters will then issue the certificate of the declaration that the accompanying person will present at the border together with the passport of the child during validity or in the second case to print the mention on the passport of the minor.
